February 26, 2010 · Tips for brides Wedding Invitations Inspiration * Jenna + Ross
I
really feel like invitations are an opportunity to set the tone for your wedding, get your guests excited and add some personal touches. It is so rare that we receive real mail now so it's nice when you get something beautiful to open.
When I got this invitation from Jenna and Ross in the mail I admit I didn't want to open the twine because I loved it all prettied up in it's doilie.
Getting their invitation is a real reflection of the wedding they have planned and it makes me even more excited about their day.
I loved the personal touch of our names on the tag. I'm sure their guests will feel like we did and appreciate that extra special effort.
I asked Jenna to describe the process of creating their wedding invitations and I thought it would be best to share her exact description here.
In Jenna's words;
"First, I found a great print on Etsy from One Reverie.
Annie at One Reverie was an absolute doll to work with and very efficient too!
With their flexibility we were able to change a few of the elements to suit our own design and personality. We changed the response card from the boring YES/NO response to:
See you at the Lake!
Sorry, got a flat tire!
We just thought that those responses fit better with the destination wedding that we are having.
As for the rest, it was me. I had to 'jenna' them up a bit as my friends say...
I ordered the twine from Whisker Graphics (also a lovely Etsian!!)
Then, the pearl touch just reflects my personal style (they are from the Martha Stewart collection). Im often caught wearing pearls with a hoodie LOL!! As for the doily, well, Im pretty much obsessed with them and have been since I was small. It was pivotal that I have it enveloped in a doily instead of a plain envelope. Sometimes people say "whats with you and doilies??" lol But I love them!
Personal tags are everything...it really makes it special for the guest. Not just another invite to toss out or file with the mail. I cut those with a big punch on martha stewart paper. Printed everything off the good ol mac! "
Thank you Jenna for sharing your inspiration and your sources. See you at the Lake!
